Taras Kamennoy deals with the Ukrainian and general post-Soviet phenomenon of continual renovation. The promise of renewal results in architecture produced using cheap and short-lived materials; at the same time, it gradually distorts the symbolic order of society. A significant transformation revealed in several of Kamennoy’s works is concerned with the importance of work.
